It is 4:11 AM Friday, January 15th, 2010. I'm standing in front of the NE TD Hotel in Amon, Jordan. In about 20 minutes will be taken off. I think family's coming with the SUV and
I'm still kind of surprised how it all feels kind of surreal. I don't think it'll really hit me until I get until I get to the border maybe, or maybe it never will. Maybe it's just the way I greet my the I don't know the, the reality of everything I guess. But yeah, it just. It kind of reminds me of military time nights when, you know, you gotta wake up early.
Not like basic training times, but you gotta wake up early and it's up to you to kind of get everything ready to go and, and everything. I don't know. I just looking forward to what this trip all has. Ooh, is an hour or a bat with this trip holds? I have no idea what it is for me, but I think it'll be something.
Yeah, it all feels kind of normal and yet totally unor that I'm getting ready to go back into a rock with some great people. I just wanted to kind of record my thoughts. Basically the last kind of opportunity, I'll get to do a voice journal before we're on the road and then I don't know when I'll have the opportunities to again, but I am still feeling pretty good about.
I just don't know what to make of it. Although Greg and I talked last night and he was talking about his, the lessons he learned from Father Joe and the Buddhist influence that, or the, the Buddhist kind of tradition that he was, he was working with him and how sometimes we spend so much time thinking and thinking and thinking.
We never take the opportunity to just be in the moment. And he had mentioned that before the other day. I really kind of think that's what's going on. Is that I'm so convinced something big is gonna happen and the reality is it's just something that, you know, I just have to absorb. I just have to I just have to you know, let myself be present for and just kind of watch the dice follows they as they may.
Yeah. So that's all I got for now. I'm gonna keep this one short. But. We should be on the border by, I guess I'm assuming by, let's say about four hours. So if we get situated by five, we should be at the border by nine, and then we'll be in Rupa by 10. We'll have all day. And then as far as I know, we're gonna be coming back no later than Monday.
But so I'm assuming might be about the same or maybe the latest we could leave is like three or something. So anyway, that's all, That's all I got for now.
