Learning at breakfast that we are the first civilians to come to Rutba since the accident. Dr. Azir said Jordanians and Syrians come, but that’s it. That seemed to really surprise folks. I don’t know if I’m totally caught off guard, mostly because I hadn’t thought about it.

At some point, I’ll need to tell maybe Shane about the idea I’ve had about donating up to half of my disability compensation (which would be $1487) to a cause or family in Rutba. I’m worried about it getting lost in politics and I also want to avoid the image of becoming a patron. Lots of ideas...

...about sistering up with Durham and going through Duke’s Center for Reconciliation. Lots of good ideas swimming around and I’d love to be a part of it, but I’m still torn about being invisible kind of character, not having yet revealed my history.

I think we would not encounter much animosity from the police here, especially considering the comments “Marc” made about getting to know the Marines. Pedro also seems to be someone who actually might be interested in knowing. I dunno, it’ll be up to Sami.
