They have roses in the residency area at the hospital. Not doing great though. Sameer said it has been a hot (and likely a dry) winter this year. Like the roses, life struggles on in Iraq.

I saw footage of a Humvee getting blown up on TV. It makes me wonder how much legitimacy the general populace grants to the insurgency. I imagine videos must reach regular folks, but I wonder what their genuine reaction is. Would I sympathize with American ‘Freedom Fighters’? Maybe if I wasn’t a pacifist...
